Hello and Happy Thursday! With the look of the Corona Virus and the impact it has taken on us physically, emotionally and mentally. This pandemic has affected the entire world yes but we will make it through if we can just continue to abide by the recommended guidelines and stay safe,so let us not lose hope.As we continue to practice Social Distancing,I have gathered a few things you can do while you are locked in with your loved ones. This maybe the ideal time to also indulge in self focus and self care.It can even be as simple as picking up a new hobby or just finally being able to get ample rest.

1. Spring cleaning/Closet Clean up

You may have been putting off or may have not had enough time to perform a closet clear out but now is the perfect time to get rid of the unnecessary accessories or clothing and prepare you closet for the upcoming season.Playing music during the clean up can be therapeutic(I find listening to music while spring cleaning soothing and making the process much easier and fun)so set aside clothes you haven’t worn in a while or nolonger need and maybe donate those clothes to a thrift store or sale them on a second hand retail store such as Poshmark at https://poshmark.com/

4. Cook a meal Together

With the extra time on our hands preparing a meal or baking together is also another great way to enhance bonds. You get to remember or learn more about your loved ones’s likes and dislikes.Everyone including the kids (if you have any)can be included in the meal preparation. An example of a perfect meal would be Sushi because you can get to use a Sushi making kit.If you are single, perhaps this will be a good time to pick up a new recipe that you can add to your specialties. You can find recipes on On Food Network, Pinterest or YouTube etc.

You can get a Sushi making kit at https://amzn.to/3bnFoL8

2. Virtual Vacation Tour

Now that vacationing is extremely restricted and most airlines have limited access.Travelzoo has these amazing tours you can take without leaving your home. You can take virtual tours to places such as aquariums, museums etc. Some of the views are breath taking.Heres the link https://www.travelzoo.com/blog/20-amazing-places-you-can-visit-without-leaving-home/?utm_source=newsflash_us&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2871840_html_deal%3a2871840&utm_content=2871840&ec=0&dlinkId=2871840

3. Drive down Memory Lane together

Grab a photo album, watch old wedding videos or birthday videos together this will be a perfect way to bond and also a great reminder of how much your loved ones mean to you.Hey you can get to crack jokes on each other on Then and Now looks 🙂

5. Bring out the games

Games are usually fun. Here are a few games that I would like to recommend:Apples to Apples,it is kid friendly and a perfect way to expand the kids vocabulary as well as enhance their thinking skills.Cards against Humanity is the adult version of Apples to Apples.Another great game is Heads up;founded by Ellen Degeneres,it is a riddle game. How it works is one person holds a phone up on their forehead and everyone else gives out clues on what the riddle on the phone is,the person holding the phone gets to guess what the riddle is (This game is can be ideal in practicing the recommended 6 feet distance)because you don’t have to be that close to each other.

You can get the Apples to Apples at https://amzn.to/2UjVoZ1 or from a Walmart Store.

You can grab Cards against Humanity at https://amzn.to/2xxd0aH

6. Pick up a new craft or earn extra income

You may have been putting off starting a business, blog or podcast etc.Now is the perfect time to invest your extra time in figuring out how to start. You can start a blog on www.WordPress.org.If you have the desire to start a podcast, you can do so on https://anchor.fm/at no cost to you.You may have always wanted to learn photography, now maybe the time to gather your research on how to take photos and start off first by practicing how to take pictures indoors.

There’s so much we can take from this Social Distancing and what seems to be a challenging time. But I encourage you to be optimistic, stay hopeful and keep practicing safe hygiene.

What have you accomplished so far during quarantine time ?please comment and share
